This month, we are featuring a new acquisition to the KHS Library Collection. This title has been around for a few years, but it’s new to us, and we think those with Clark County area roots should put this one on their list! The content is photograph heavy which provides for a very enjoyable session when sitting down to enjoy the compilation. As one would expect from this type of book, it contains many photographs from locals who contributed images from their personal collection. However, the majority of the photographic content comes from the Archives of the Bluegrass Heritage Museum on Main Street in Winchester. This delightful museum/archive, located in the historic Guerrant Clinic building, has been collecting and preserving the local history for many years, and this resource allows for a wider audience to enjoy the highlights of their collection.

The Contents breaks down the subject areas for you: Business, Agriculture, Downtown, Transportation, Historic Homes, Government, Military, Schools, Athletics, Organizations, Churches, Friends and Family. As for time period, the photographs cover a wide range, mostly through the 20th century. For those of you who don’t have a lot of leisure time to enjoy the images, there is an index in the back to make research more productive. This title is cataloged and ready for folks to view at the KHS Library!
