Hazel Chinn Besserer compiled this Chinn family research collection between 1970 and 1985, and contributed to published information on the Chinn family.  As part of her research, she traced her line back through Kentucky to Cabell Breckinridge Chinn (182MSS 2003-1862), named after one of his father’s legal clients, Joseph Cabell Breckinridge of Kentucky.

The collection, MSS 200, is housed in 15 boxes, and consists of family group sheets, copies of source material, correspondence, newspaper clippings, legal documents, burial information and bible records for Chinn and related family members throughout the United States.

Researchers interested in accessing this collection can see the catalog record online, view the finding aid online or visit the Martin F. Schmidt library at the Kentucky Historical Society.
